Brutal Truth About Life Post Affair

I Don't believe Karma Exist and Here is Why

Betrayed spouses like us love the idea of Karma, “What goes around comes around”, "You reap what you sow".

This is the phrase that comforts when we are in the darkest moments. It is a belief that we invented to keep us going when the going gets tough.

We fervently wished that a list of accumulated string of nasty consequences, which arises from that series of deliberate decisions made during the affair, should and would lead to the ultimate, outcome for the unfaithful spouse and the 3rd party involved.
Unfortunately, the truth is that there is 1 very important variable which make a big difference to the outcome of this equation, it is LUCK.

If the Karma works in such a simplistic way, why do I still see a number of unfaithful spouses and mistresses happily married? Why did Fiori insist on marrying Velda in Nov last year, even after I pointed out to him that the success rate of 2nd marriage with mistress was basically less than 5%? Why did Velda seem to consistent "get away"? Why didn't Karma catch up with my unfaithful spouse and her?! (Read my post on Does Karma truly exist?)

Case in point
Due to her nature and workplace, the chances for Velda to stray were very high. Hence, whichever illicit relationship she was in, she would most likely betray her partner. In this case she cheated on her then BF to be with married Fiori.  As Velda was quite lucky, my unfaithful spouse was at the right place, at the right time when she needed someone to cheat on Fiori. In this case, if Karma works, Velda should get her retribution, 1st for cheating on her then BF to be with Fiori, then twice for cheating on Fiori
Which means her Karma was long over due. - Karma 0, Velda 1
Unlike Velda, the chances of Fiori cheating on Velda was lower, since the workspace they shared was male dominated. Also, just fresh out of divorce proceedings, he did not have the energy nor the money to stray. However, he was extremely unlucky that my unfaithful spouse was a willing partner for Velda. As a result, Fiori was cheated on twice, immediately right after he successfully divorced his wife.
Karma is finally served. - Karma 1, Fiori 0
In the last case, my unfaithful spouse was unceremoniously betrayed and dumped once Velda's goal was achieved.
If this is considered as Karma - Karma 1, Unfaithful spouse 0
However, unlike him, who had a natural liking to promiscuous women, the chances of me cheating on my unfaithful spouse were extremely low. Again, due to his work nature, he would need to be extremely lucky to meet another willing partner to cheat.
Is his Karma overdue too? - Karma 0, Unfaithful spouse 1

Moving on, suppose that Fiori and Velda had a kid from their marriage and Fiori decided to be a devoted husband, while Velda finally decided to be a good mother and role model for their kid. She quit her job and become a homemaker. As a result, her changes of cheating with other men were much lower.
- Karma 0, Velda 2 and Fiori 1.

Let's say that in future, my unfaithful spouse, was extremely lucky enough to meet yet another promiscuous woman outside work, while I am still trying to recover from the betrayal. Karma 0, Unfaithful spouse 2

Once, Karma is looked at this way, I realized it is a simple equation of Cause and Effect.

Karma is simply a cycle of Cause and Effect. Hence, sometimes good things happen to bad people due to favorable circumstances and their good fortune.

Therefore, whether we like it or not, good things do happen to some of the "bad" people, and bad things definitely will still happen to "good" people.

This explained why my unfaithful spouse and Velda have been consistently getting away with the mess they created.

This is a brutal, sad truth which I have come to realize and still trying to come to terms with.
